How to Save with Encore Ink!

With the advent of online marketing, consumer have more choices than ever. There are a large number of reputable companies that sell printer ink and toner cartridges at significant savings. It is very common to save 50-85% when purchasing your printer supplies. In addition to substantial savings, you'll get a money back guarantee and your order is normally shipped the same day.

Ok, here are ten ways (plus 1) to save on printer ink and toner cartridges:

1. Purchase an ink refill kit. You'll get step-by-step instructions, the tools and printer ink you need to refill your ink cartridge in just a few minutes. On the average, you can refill an inkjet cartridge ten times.

2. Purchase a compatible inkjet cartridge. These are cartridges made from new parts and manufactured to meet or exceed the OEM specifications for you exact printer.

3. Purchase a remanufactured inkjet cartridge. Third party companies collect empty printer ink cartridges. They refill them with ink and test them vigorously to make sure you get exactly the quality and quantity you expect from your inkjet cartridge.

4. Your inkjet cartridge will eventually wear out. Instead of purchasing a brand name cartridge, purchase a compatible or remanufactured cartridge. Then, when compatible cartridge is empty, refill it with printer ink just as you did your original.

5. When you're printing, always use draft mode until you're ready for your final print.

6. Whenever possible, select black and white print or us greyscale for draft printing. If you're final product is to be in color, your draft can be done in black and white until you've double-checked everything. Then, print your final copies in color.

7. Purchase a compatible toner cartridge. Third party companies make these toner cartridges from brand new parts. They are manufactured to be equal to or better than your original toner cartridge.

8. Purchase a remanufactured toner cartridge for your laser printer. Many companies collect empty toner cartridges. They empty any toner waste and then refill the cartridge. They quality check the drum and other parts of the cartridge to insure maximum performance for the consumer.

9. Purchase a toner refill kit. These kits include the tools and instructions necessary to refill your own toner cartridge. On the average, you can refill a toner cartridge about three times.

10. When your toner cartridge is not producing the quality of print you expect, check to see if you can replace the drum, instead of the entire cartridge. This will keep money in your pocket.

11. Purchase multiple ink and toner cartridges if you can. You will save substantially over the already discounted cost, plus you will probably get Free shipping.

Why Spend a Little More for Printer-Specific Ink?

You might be asking, "Why shouldn't I save money by buying a universal ink to fill my cartridges?

There is no such thing as a generic or universal ink that works well in every printer/cartridge combination. Different printers require specific inks to work their best. Some inks will not print properly or give you accurate color combinations if used in the wrong printer. Some can even damage your printer. This is why we need you to tell us your printer model or cartridge number so that we can provide you with the appropriate inks. Our commitment to the ink refilling community: Encore Ink will only ship refill kits and inks that are specifically designed for your printer.

Here is the bottom line:

Our inks are custom-manufactured to fit your cartridge. The physical properties (viscosity, density, surface tension and drying time) are near-perfectly matched to the manufacturers specifications. The colors are matched with the original manufacturer's colors and all use the highest quality dye or pigment available. Longevity and fade resistance is optimized to be equal or better than the original manufactures ink. All these premium qualities help prevent clogging in your printer and give your prints bright, bold colors and sharper blacks!

Finally, let's hear from our supplier about their top-quality ink processes!

  • "Our company emphasizes superior, cutting-edge ink chemistry and production technology to deliver inks that perfectly match OEM printing specifications. The reliability of our research delivers exact compatibility. the precision of our quality control ensures batch consistency and uniformity. And the efficiency of our manufacturing and engineering process enables us to offer a complete line of stock and custom ink solutions for every business application in the printer market. The outcome is a unique blending of ink formulas, as distinct and precise as your needs!"

Ink Refill Tips

  1. The MOST IMPORTANT tip is to refill your cartridges BEFORE they run empty - if you do this you'll significantly increase your refilling success rate!
  2. Refilling your cartridge is just like anything else - the first time you refill your cartridges you'll want to go slowly and follow the instructions step-by-step. As you become more comfortable with the refill process you'll be able to refill faster and faster. Once you're experienced you'll probably be able to refill them in less than 5 minutes.
  3. Refilling cartridges isn't messy, time consuming (in fact it saves time) or complicated any longer. Our refill systems provide you with exactly what you need to quickly and cleanly refill your cartridges. You save time because, with our multi-refill kits you'll always have extra ink on hand, and will always be prepared for the eventuality of running out of ink.
  4. When you're injecting ink into a cartridge make sure that the hole that you're injecting ink into is a little bigger than the needle so air has a spot to leave the cartridge. Otherwise you'll just force ink out of the printhead.
  5. Do your refills over newspaper. You may choose to wear rubber gloves, though the ink is water-soluble and does come off your hands after a couple washings.
  6. When you're injecting ink into a cartridge which uses a sponge to hold the ink (you'll know because the sponge gives the syringe needle resistance when you insert it), inject the ink DEEPLY AND SLOWLY. The most common problem is that an air bubble forms which keeps the ink from reaching the printhead, so inject deep (get the need tip all the way down to the printhead which will force the air up - not down), and inject slowly to let the air work it's way up out of the sponge.
  7. It's best to have two cartridges - when one runs out replace it with your 'spare' and then fill the spare at your leisure. Store your spare in a zip-lock bag along with a damp paper towel to keep the printhead from drying out, and wrap saran wrap around the printhead (store both empty cartridge awaiting refilling and full refilled cartridges this way).
  8. When you're refilling a three-color cartridge, refill each color until full then remove 1-2 ml of that color while your syringe is still in the cartridge. Repeat for each color and then suspend the cartridge ABOVE paper towels until it stops dripping (the removal of ink from each chamber will significantly reduce the required 'dripping time'). Then sit the printhead directly on the paper towels for 5 minutes. You do this to draw a little ink out of each chamber to draw out any cross-contaminated ink from the bottom of the cartridge. These types of cartridges can't be refilled without a little cross-contamination happening at the printhead itself, and this little trick will make refilling these cartridges a snap.
